It’s easy to travel from Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo or Washington state by scheduled car-ferries (three different terminals) or seaplanes (many daily flights from multiple terminals). For example, from Victoria the Swartz Bay ferry is 35 minutes to Fulford Harbour; from Vancouver the Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay ferries range from 1.4 hours (direct) to 3 hours (island-hopping); from downtown Vancouver or the terminal at the airport float planes arrive in 20 minutes into Ganges Village Harbour, Salt Spring Island.
